Green Code residence

The Green Code residence is a mixed-use building with residential and commercial units on boulevard J. F. Kennedy in Esch-sur-Alzette.

The building is aligned with Boulevard Berwart, which provides a new access route to Esch-sur-Alzette town center. It is one of many new projects recently completed, such as the footbridge to the park, the development of the Place de l’Hôtel de Ville, the bus station, Marco Polo housing and the new Justice de Paix building. Such a privileged location, in a booming city, calls for a strong identity in terms of the building’s expression.

This mixed-use building with residential and commercial units on 6 levels is located in a dense, continuous row of buildings on boulevard J. F. Kennedy.

The buildings in this line are characterized by their strict horizontal lines. The Green Code residence continues this linearity but interrupts the rigor with its curved facade that creates internal loggias or protruding bay windows. These fluid movements in the façade create a sparkling effect and give it a beautiful sheen. Horizontal green stripes give structure to the façade. Interior spaces open up to the full height of the floor and are extended by filigree balconies, bordered by green balustrades symbolizing the renewal of the city.
